So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
They don't mention any design wins, and no date is given when they might show up in notebooks. I was hoping to be able to compare performance and battery life with the new ATI mobile chipset for Turion 64 before deciding. By the looks of it this VIA chipset might arive much later.

Well, there's really not much new about this K8N800A chipset other than Turion 64 support compared to the old K8N800 chipset. From the looks of it, the ATI Xpress 200M chipset is better in almost every respect.
if you dont know what and where hogwarts is then....
oh i know wtf = what the fxxx but i just ignore that part
(lots of ppl in this forum are sooooooooooooo sensitive. gotta make it as not obvious as possible)
It would probably start with 754 sockets then move on to the 939. I guess it all depends on AMD and their chip set makers.
this doesnt make any sense..
why would they put in 754? are they crazy like intel?
nope certainly not, if 939 can support dual cores then the 939 socket has a very very long life ahead of it..754 in turion would be a fatal mistake!
You're right. I almost forgot that AMD has said the 939 pin supports dual-core but 754 does not. If AMD does have a dual core Turion chip coming out, wouldn't that mean they would have to release 939 mobile chips?
I have a feeling this won't happen for a long time though, like 3-4Q '05.
most likely the turion will come out as a single core 939 ..
and about 6 months down the line we could just change out the proc and put in a dual core and a bios update..

Oops sorry, i wasn't clear. I ment that AMD might start Turions out to be 754 sockets and move on to 939 sockets. It would be nice if AMD allowed previous AMD 754 socket users to be able to upgrade to a Turion.
As for dual core i believed that they will only be for 940 and 939 sockets.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has been touting its forthcoming Turion 64 processor for notebooks on the sidelines of the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), held in San Francisco from March 1-3, pledging that the new CPU will be available by mid-year.
Although Intel has continued to promote its strategy to sell its new CPUs, core logic and wireless chipsets as packaged platform solutions, sources at AMD said that the company will launch the Turion 64 independently but will promote the CPU in cooperation with other chipmakers, including ATI Technologies, Nvidia, VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS).
The recently launched Radeon Xpress 200M IGP (integrated graphics processor) from ATI and the K8N800A IGP from VIA are both compatible with AMD’s upcoming Turion 64 mobile technology, the sources noted.
In addition, AMD will also provide validation and compatibility-testing services for core-logic and wireless chipset designs optimized for Turion 64 technology, the sources added.
