well after the past week of very terse conversations with Dell re: my 8-cell battery exchange I placed and was to have been shipped 3 weeks ago, after two deliveries of the wrong part (4-cell battery), I have now received two 8-cell batteries: one to exchange, and one keep (giveaway). Neither are refurbished. I guess that is why I have only bought dell computers, because in the end they'll bribe me with something to make me happy.
On this 700m purchase (which I bought factory sealed on ebay), I have been able to transfer warranty to my name within 48 hours rather than the normal 7-14 business days; got 4-yr onsite complete care for the price of 3-yr onsite complete care plus rebate; and now two 8-cell batteries. Funny thing is, my account shows another 8-cell battery having been shipped. I've asked for dell to cancel two of the three since the first one showing shipped was a correct 8-cell, but they didn't. I guess they want to ensure I finally get the correct part this time. well, i guess i'll see tomorrow if i get a third 8-cell. I guess i don't have any battery problems now. If the new ones work as advertised, that is over 15 hours.
