installing video drivers

Hey guys,
Kind of a newb here on installing aftermarket drivers. I have an M11 and I'd like to upgrade to the best drivers for it for optimized frame rates and best performance, I guess I should go with the newest omegas? I have em downloaded and ready to install, but I just wanted to see if I could get a nice step by step write up on the procedure, since I want to do this right and not screw everything up. Clean the old drivers out with DriveCleaner (available at http://www.driverheaven.net/)

You might consider getting the catalyst betadrivers then using mobility modder, rather than the Omega's which haven't been updated yet--specifically, if you play half-life or doom3

I'm having problems with the new Counterstrike: Source, really really choppy when i get in a game, think the catalyst drivers would do better?
