This is really ticking me off. I installed Icon Packager awhile back but I decided today that since I never use it I might as well just uninstall it. Well, instead of the program just uninstalling Icon Packager, it uninstalls AlienGUIse, Window Blinds, and everything else I have installed having to do with StarDock software. What the heck!!! First AlienGUIse was factory installed, second I installed Window Blinds and everything else completely seperataly from Icon Packager. Guess what else, I can't redownload AlienGUIse because Alienwares website's link just doesn't work anymore, the link that was posted in a thread awhile back, thats dead too. This is really pissing me off. The stinking thing even had all the programs listed SEPERATALY under add/remove. What the Hell!!!!! I spent weeks getting my computer the way I wanted it and now this stupid programs goes and ruins everything in a matter of minutes. I even tried restoring to an ealier date, did nothing at all. I am so sick and tired of how idiotic windows is. Someone should just go burn down microsoft and let Linux make all the operating systems from now on. At least they work right.

Im really wondering how long a thread title can be before it is either turned into ... or if it starts a second line and just keeps on going and going and going and yes I like alienGUIse and the world needs another choice besides windows maby i will paste this into a thread title to test what will happen. good luck polorboy. hope you get that monster tamed again!

XP can be such a double edged sword. Its a great operating system as NT owns over earlier Windows versions BUT making additions can be a real bummer. Wildly divergent software utilizes the same files which means that crashes or problems in one invariably effect another and another, etc. Always set your own restore points before you add software and the headaches can usually be avoided...

Two things, I already tried rolling back my system (i.e: System Restore) and that did nothing. I also went to that link a million times, the download is dead. It doesn't work. I tried it at least 20 different times, everytime I just got a blank pop-up window.

Well, I happen to like the icons that AlienGUIse gives you. I clicked the link above and downloaded it but when I went to install it said it installed but it still doesn't work. I would really like to get it working again. I actually liked the whole thing a lot, I really don't care if anyone else likes it, i was just venting some steam thats all. If you don't have any advice on how to help me out then really don't just tell me that you don't like it or that I should be happy that I can't get it to work. Really, I already know that I like it and it doesn't matter to me if anyone else does or not, it is on my computer. So, if anyone has any advice on how I can get the stinking thing working again that would be great.

Well, in case anyone was reading this thread I finaly got the stinking thing working. I had to edit my registry and remove all traces of StarDock and the AlienGuise so I could reinstall to get it to work.

In "Discussion Forums>AlienGUIse Theme Manager"
there is a cool XP logon menu ( created by Limbonik )
you will need a program called stardock logon studio in order to use it though.
