4750, realtek audio and spdif out

I finally found a digital/mono mini-din to phono cable so I could use the digital audio out to my altec ada880r digial speaks. Sounds great but have run into a few quirks and want to check and see if anyone else has found the same. using latest realtek a3.65's btw (driver 5.10.0.5740)

#1- every once in awhile, the digital output stops for a split second, then just as fast it outputs to digital again.

#2 - the laptop software volume control doesn't work with the spdif out. This is due to the spdif not being linked to the 'mail' volume control, but to each seperate output themselves as if it is a 'main2'. Its actually very annoying and it would be nice to have a way to control this via keyboard shortcut somehow. The spdif volume is locked at about 3/4 which is fine but i don't see why they don't link it to the master volume

#3 - internal speakers still play even with digital ones plugged in. This really doesn't annoy me that much except for the fact that as nice as these sound for laptop speakers, they are crap compared to my altecs and since the altecs overpower them so much i risk them distorting at higher volumes and not noticing which in turn damages the speakers.

if anyone knows a workaround let me know. Some of this is direct realtek driver issues that clevo/sager/eurocom can't really do anything about except for complain bitterly and use their bigger clout to demand fixes. I don't wanna raise too much of a stink until I can get a few confirmations from others that they find the same in case its just a strange bug with my install, but I'm doubting it.

This issue seems to have resolved itself with the a3.66 driver in my initial testing.

Workaround to not damage internal speakers is to simply turn down the master volume as that will mute the internal speakers, though this is still annoying. I'm still trying to find a way to control the spdif volume from the laptop shortcut volume control.

couldn't help ya, I got an audigy 2 ns hooked up to my z-640's so I haven't used the 4750's audio ports at all. I ought to upgrade the realtek drivers tho
