I'm not sure if people noticed this in the general forum, but there is a new lightweight 15.4" WSXGA laptop out packing a 256Mb ATI 9700.

ODM is Uniwill.

Its so cheap too

As well as I understand, this is 259IA model. But, to my knowledge, it also has a TV-tuner option. Some of the wholesalers in Lithuania have already received this model. Unfortunately, we have not had any chance to test it yet.

Wow, those guys (ITC) are insanely expensive! Even with the conversion to USD, the spec 9680 I want is 8217 AUD = 6410 USD. The same spec at PCT is only 3300 USD. Crazy crazy!

Judging by the ratings and the comments, I wouldn't buy from this 'CyberPowerSystems' company.

You can get ITC laptops from their resellers for a lot less than they sell for on their website:

www.p4laptops.com.au

But everything is more expensive here than the US.

While I think Resellerratings mostly tend towards the negative for large companies such as Dell/Compaq/Gateway etc. I think they're fairly accurate for online resellers.

Based on that, I wouldn't give Cyberpower a try.

There are a couple of people here on these forums who have bought from Cyberpower. I cannot say what their experience in total was.

Sorry for the misleading prices there. We only wholesale at the moment and the prices were inflated to protect our dealers untill our web guys get around to removing the prices ffrom the configure page.

Yep thats correct, however they are only mini pci tv tuner's and since the 259IA doesnt have Infrared your limited to having a usb Infrared apadtor for the remote to work. I think TV Tuners are slated to be finished by January(Was supposed to be the end of this month).

heard mostly bad or shady things about them, and then other people saying that 256 in the 9700 is wasted and gives no benfit over the 128 -- if any of this is even partially true, then i would stay away from them...

then again, what do i know?

The only problem is the lack of WUXGA

I love the UXGA screen on my 5670, I have to have a UXGA on my new machine, which is why currently, the only machine for me is the 3790
