does anyone know how or of a program where you can run a virus scan from a bootable CD?

Here is some info, you will need to read up on the pages mentioned to figure out how to set up the current definitions. It also ask you on the install if you want to do this, but at that time the Definitions are not current, so you may want to do it after the install as well.
edit 1 - I think the links I gave you say floppys, but there is information in the NAV help, and later in the directions that talk about using CD's. So it should work on both.

If you know you have a virus on the primary hard drive of a computer the best option is to remove the infected hard drive, install it as a slave drive on another computer, run virus scans etc. remove infections then re-install in original machine. Yes you can do a scan without ever going into windows. The ability to fix/repair/delete those viruses are limited compared to the option I described.
