Sager 3790 vs (Uniwill) Xplorer S4-3200 - Page 4

Well thanks to the viciouspc find from DANCSANK and obviously the feedback from present owners I am pretty much sold, the config I am looking at is almost $300 cheaper @ viciouspc. I can´t imagine getting a better bang for you buck.

Am I being to skeptical or is there anything to worry about with this reseller, it has great resellerratings feedback. It ji¿ust seems too good to be true.

how pretty is the screen?

uniwill wsxga compared to sager 3790 wsxga of course.... any differences that anyone has noticed?

I cancelled my order with ibuypower and placed one with vicious. About a $350 savings for me. Besides, as I said in previous messages, the requirement to pay for 'rush' processing in order to get your system in a reasonable time and the ridiculously high handing charge ($39 for ground shipping in the lower 48?) chaps my butt and I am glad that there seem to be better vendors out there. My 2.1Ghz based system ended up being under $1700. I hope vicious comes through so I can run around speaking well of them. The extra parts for my machine are starting to arrive and I am preparing to migrate off my current system. Yeah.

2 512Mb Ram chips max??

Reading the User's Manual (Looking at user's manual from Uniwill website), I think it said that this laptop only supports RAM chips up to 512 each. Can anyone confirm?

No bluetooth w/o opening up case and installing dongle (which probally voids warranty?) or taking up USB port, both kinda stink...but reagardless this will be my first ever laptop and i think i researched it quite a bit just wanted to check what else, if anything, I should know before I order

So, the Manual is wrong

It can support 2x 1 Gig Chips.

I doubt many companies will give it to you before Jan 2005 due to the holiday rush. You might be in luck to find a local vendor in your area that offer them and pick it up there. But that is based on assumption no configuration changes and those are pre-built model.

pcmcia controller brand?

knowing the make of the cardbus controller is THE make or break deal for me as some controllers are incompatible with the magma pci expansion chassis that i need to run my audio gear. captain or any other owners..can you do me a favor and check on your system? uniwill's website doesn't specify. TI = good. anything else may or may not be good. Also i believe this is an important issue for those of you interested in this new creative pcmcia bliggy.

I spoke with them today on the phone. If you buy it today it will ship by next Wednesday. They have them IN stock....BUT they do NOT offer custom paint jobs. This is a down-fall for me. I really wanted the custom paint job. Does anyone know of any companies that can do custom paint jobs?

wow those specs and prices at viscious look pretty good. but only 11 ratings and a 7 average at resellerratings.com? I would be concerned. I just ordered the Sager 3790 today. Looks like a little less bang for my buck, but I trust Sager and the peer to peer support available here for the 3790 is a big plus.

I just placed my order after speeking with them after calling 3 times. I ask if there where any dead or goofie pixels if they would fix it no mater where they are on the lcd screen there reply was. Yep just send it back and it will be taken care of even tho it would be highly unlikly sent with any bad.

The systems you posted are not the same, one has an upgraded dvd burner.

Honestly I believe the vicious still offer a great deal it just worries me that the same configs are different prices, I mean that definetly gives a terrible impresion
