Can I buy Sager notebook outside USA?

Hi there!

This is my first post here. I am a Pro Audio user. Recently I've been looking around for a new notebook which would replace my Toshiba Satellite 2800 (P III 900 MHZ) as a portable DAW. So a couple days ago I found a link to here and saw the upcoming 8890 model. WOW! That is more than a dream come true! (I mean, at least until I see the price... )
However, I live Europe so my big question is: Is it possible to buy it in Europe (I found a link www.sager-europe.com but it doesn't seem to work) ,or to order it from outside the USA? And in the latter case, how would it be with warranty, service and tech support?
Any help appreciated!
Cheers!

Peter

Sager is a clevo reseller, and there are many other clevo resellers in europe, I'm in the UK where mesh and ajp sell clevo laptops under their own name. I've seen links around these forums for Swiss, Dutch, German, Spanish and other resellers so searching might reveal something, where in Europe are you?

The question is whether it will be cheaper to buy and ship from the US or buy a laptop where you are, probably at a higher price than the sagers on pctorque. International delivery including customs charges from what I've heard costs around $200, and you'd have to pay this whenever you returned the laptop for an upgrade or for a technical reason.

It might be cheaper to buy from the UK since the prices here are very similar to the US and shipping would probably be less expensive. Here's some links I found around the forums for european resellers:

UK
Mesh Computers
AJP

Netherlands
Advance Technology
Completer
Powerline
Promedion

Spain
Ahtec

Switzerland
Jet
LittleBit
Fosa

France
Keynux

Belgium
Discoveries

Germany
Tronic5

Most of the european vendors are behind the US so you might have to wait longer for new models, but if you're thinking of the 8887, UK resellers at least still sell the old (better) 16.1" uxga screens.

Edit: I missed it the first time but I see you're in Poland, sorry I cant find any resellers there but then I cant speak polish so you might have better luck on google.pl than I did. Try searching for the Clevo model name for the notebook you're looking for or even 'Clevo' itself.

I live in Europe too (Netherlands and France o_Ô) but I ordered my 5620 at powernotebooks.com.

I had it shipped to my aunt in LA who then brought the laptop to the Netherlands. I do would want to advise you to do it this way cuz you dont like an extra 20% of VAT added to your total expenditure besides wiring money to the US.
Ofcuz not everyone has an aunt there but you could also opt for getting the laptop yourself. Especially now it's great to buy in the US since 1 euro is like 1.12 us now (i bought my laptop at 0.87 which translates into 400euro lost). If you get it yourself besure to unpack it and send the manuals by mail ))

Btw, prices in europe are far more expensive if you go for the latest tech. A 3000us laptop would be close to 4500us in the EU

Our company, "Telsakoma", is located in Lithuania.
We sell Sager notebooks. We can deliver one to Poland too.
It usually takes 7-9 days to get notebooks from the US. The prices are higher by about $300-400 (shipping costs). However, you might also need to pay some import tax.

In the case of the problem, you would have to ship the notebook to Lithuania which would cost you much less than to the US.

Guys!

Thanks so much for your help and links!
I am targeting at Sager (Clevo) 8890 so I have some days to think of the import tactics. There's no reseller in Poland but Lithuania looks good (thanks Gintas), also I go to Switzerland pretty often so I'll check out there too.
Anyways, once again, thanks a lot!
