Still can't understand how he manipulates the plastic tubing for the liquid cooling with those pesky hooves...but nice work nonetheless...even for a goat

Well time to upgrade... again...

My motherboard appears to have gone tits up last night so I am currently running on an old Dell laptop. The mobo is still under warranty, but I am sure it will take a good 3 weeks for an RMA to go through. So I ended up buying an A8N-SLI premium AND an EvGA 7800gt.

I will be selling off the Motherboard after it comes back from RMA and both video cards, so the upgrade should only cost me around 75 dollars. I am also considering selling off my watercooling stuff and using the funds for that to buy a second 7800. I already have a big ass Zalman heatsink which will run nice and quiet and I typically do not overclock (no need) so the watercooling although "cool" is a bit of an overkill.

And to think if my 5700 laptop would have shipped on time (now 9 days overdue) I could use that inseted of this old Dell.

As always, I'll post pictures when the parts come in.

Well i'm back up and running. Kinda...

Turns out it was not the motherboard, but the PSU. It threw me for a loop, because I could hot jump the PSU and it would power up fine. But if I ran it through the motherboard I got nothing which is why I suspected the motherboard.

So I get the premium, gut my system and get the same thing. So now I am running the premium, one 6600gt and the two raptors on the 460w PSU that came in the Alienware. It's a 20 pin PSU so I am only running the essentials. No CD-ROM, Extra hard drives, etc. My Alien Eyes don't even glow because they are plugged into the dead PSU

The Alienware PSU is sitting next to the system so it looks pretty frankensienish. I have yet to decide exactly what I am going to keep and what I will sell / return. But I am leaning towards keeping the Premium as it is a hassle tearing out the watercooling everytime I want to make a change or something goes wrong. I'll put up pics once I get everything up and running.

Wow, I'm pulling double duty tonight. I just updated my laptop thread.

I got my replacement PSU in which means I am back up and running. I did an advanced RMA replacement where I give them a CC# and they ship out a new PSU to me. As long as they get the dead PSU back within 30 days I get billed nothing. I requested the RMA on monday and got the PSU today. Pretty fast service.

Below are pics of the premium board and my SATA adapters on the CD-ROM drives. The only real difference between the deluxe and the premium is the heatpipe cooler on the chipest and the lack of a SLI selecter card.

Very clean cables. Where did you get your SATA adapters for th CDROM drivess? I would like to pick up a couple to clean up my case.
