shinza specs:

* Available colors: black and grey
* Dimensions (please measure your notebook and compare to interior figures!)
o Exterior (W x D x H): 14.2 x 1.0 x 11.8 inches (360 x 25 x 300 mm)
o Interior (W x D x H): 13.0 x 1.8 x 10.2 inches (330 x 45 x 260 mm)
(To clear up a frequently-asked question: Yes, the exterior thickness is less than the interior thickness, since the former measures the thickness of an empty sleeve. The interior dimensions measure what will fit inside, so naturally the interior capacity will be greater than the thickness of an empty sleeve.)
* Materials: High-resistance polyurethane
* Weight: Medium = 0.54 lbs (0.245 kg)

seems timbuk2 has different matterial than zeroshock. i like the brand of timbuk2 but i think zeroshock could be well protected your laptop than timbuk2's laptop sleeve. of course, it costs more than an zeroshock.

ya that is the main factor..price

do you plan to put your laptop in the sleeve and carry it around, or do you plan to put sleeve in a computer bag / backpack to carry?

if you would do the later one, i guess zeroshcok would be good enough (and the price is good). i think i saw there has a handle on the timbuk2 one but i don't know if it is strong enough to use it thou.

i have the zeroshock, and i plan to use it in my ogio laptop backpack, or the thinkpad computer bag which i bought from overstock.com. it seems to have pretty good protection in the thinkpad carrying case.

i would be carying it around in a messenger bag probably about 17" across. the laptop sleeve from t2 is nice because if basiclly is a bag in itself..own strap, large enough to carry the adapter/cords.

but shinza has its own positive aspects and is cheaper.

ill probably lean towards the shinza.

Kinda' stuck deciding between a good laptop carrying case with padding or getting the zeroshock 15" medium and putting it in my regular leather briefcase too. Kinda' like the idea of a sleeve, but would probably have to come up with a smart way to eat up the extra space in the sleeve so it fit a bit more snug. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Redgtxdi,

I am planning to buy the Shinza Zeroshock sleeve (15") for my 700m. I plan to place the sleeved 700m in my shoulder bag, so I don't think I will mind a little extra space in the sleeve. I don't really want a real tight fit as it sounds like it would be extra effort just to load it into the sleeve. I just want something to provide some protection for the 700m which is already positioned in a moderatly padded slot of a shoulder-carry type bag. My 2 cents.
