Quadro VS Geforce

I have a friend who is heavily into CAD design. She is in need of a new graphics card. I'd like to ask those professionals out there what would be her best option. She has $500 to spend. Would a 6800ultra be a better purchase for her or a similarily priced quadro card. A $500 quadro card is going to be of an older generation of technoloy so I'm torn on telling her what to do. I could sure use some help. Recommendations on cards are also welcomed.

DON't BUY 6800 ultra on AGP. It has a problem with profesional encoding acceleration which is a hardware bug so ...
Try buying a FXquadro

Thank you. I really needed that feed back. Any suggestions on the best $400-$500 card?

I know you can take an FX card (NV3X based) and turn it into a Quatro via a simple softmod or bios flash, cant remember which. I would do some more research into that. Maybe Guru3d ppl can tell you more on that.

I'm tempted to do the the softmod, but its not my money and my friend is not very computer savy. Here is the system I'm setting up for her.

Their inventory chages on a daily bases. When I made the post it was one of their Thanksgiving sale items.
