I'll be playing CS:S for about four minutes and framrate will be dandy. but then all of a sudden my framerate will plumit and at the sametime i noticed the fan on my powersupply has stopped going. A few minutes later again, the framerate goes back up and indeed the powersupply's fan has come back on as well. Pretty strange, no? I have the latest Omega drivers installed (did it the other day) and I cant for the life of me figure out how to fix this. I tried monkeying around with the settings in the ATI advanced 3D menu thingy (within display properties) that comes with the Omega drivers.
