sound prob with rh9 and sager 4060

Thread Starter
funny thing it recognizes my sond card but it does not load the module
any ideas
i am kinda in a rush will post specs in a minute

**edit**
anyway i am using RH9 with their latest kernel
2.4.20-19.9 i think
i have a sager 4060 with a 2.4 ghz p4
512 mb ram 40 gb hdd radeon 64 mb ddr
and a sis chipset
in linux it comes up as SIS ac 97 soundcard
i went to play a test sound and it said the module for the sound card was not loaded
i am sorta baffled
any help is appreciated

**edit again**
i ran sndconfig and it states that:

A PCI sound card was found in your system. The details are:
Model: Silicon Integrated Systems
[SiS]|SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator

and

The Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS]|SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator is currently supported, but yours is currently disabled. You can possibly fix this by setting 'PnP OS' to 'no' in your BIOS.

the problem is in the bios there is no option to set pnp os to no
there is the option to enable/disable audio device
right now according to my bios the audio device is enabled
so far this is my problem
also an lsmod shows :
Module Size Used by Not tainted
soundcore 6404 0 (autoclean)
if that helps

are you using acpi? how about apic?

you may need one or both of these to set up irq routing, for plug and play.

are you trying to use the oss sound drivers, or the alsa drivers?
