Sound quality on Sagers

This is something that doesn't seemed to be talked about a lot, but I was curious about it nonetheless.

I realize that the soundchip inside the system will be a good one... so you can plug in any real good speaker system and be happy with it.

However, what about those who don't have the room to plug in big speakers, or perhaps cannot use headphones because of work conditions?

I have an older P166mx system with a 14 inch screen. The things speakers are two tiny deals in the corners. When anything with bass kicks in they crackle overloaded And of course the sound is weak, with several ranges missing.

How are these Sagers speakers? They've got to be better than these on my current laptop I'm using... I don't need amazing sound, but decent, enough to play movies and games and whatnot and get decent volume, with bass and such.

Hi, I have a recently bought 5670 and zi'm pretty happy with sound quality. Definitely better than the Compaq, CTX and Gateways I've own before. The sound level from dvd's is alittle low but they have a fix for that at sagers download site.
Of course I do plug my Altec- Lansing speakers in when I'm home; but into the headphone jack. I can't get anything to work with the SPDIF out line. Probably just don't have anything that works in it because the little red light works in it. Hope this helps since it definitly isn't a very TECHNICAL review!

I have an 8887-V and the built-in speakers are embarassing. However, the S/PDIF connection to my 4.1 setup sounds really nice!

If you output to good stuff, it sounds better. Yeah, you can quote me on that.

i agree with mykrat...i have a 4760 and the speakers are embarrasing, but when you plugi n headphones or other speakers its very nice...or if you want 16 bit sound or even 24 bit sound...go with the sound blaster mp3+ or extigy...they work great.

Now I have heard that the Sager 4760 have a GREAT sound systesm? I beleive Adam said that in his post for the review? your telling me that it has 4 speakers and a sub woofer and the sound sucks?????

i am not saying it sucks, i am saying it is better than most laptop sound systems as afar as i know, but when you compare it lets says a desktop sound system even running off a sound blaster live card you can tell that it isn't so great...if you were to plug in speakers to the outputs in front it sounds good and headphones sound good, but the speakers aren't anything amazing.

Ok all my friends have just gotten new laptops ( we are all going to college) and yeah my sounds blows, its not very loud, clear, or really worth listening to. If you think its better than anything else out there right now, you are sorely mistaken, I have a 5670 BTW. But it doesnt matter because i bought the sound blaster extigy "Mp3" edition and i have a pair of nice headphones, all i need and wayyyyyyy better that those crappy speakers. I mean really, when i'm on the road or at a friends, i have the realtek card disabled and i keep it that way, no sense embarassing myself with crappy audio It's much more fun to show off my beautiful uxga wide-angles screen But yeah i am a speaker freak and i'll gaurentee you that my clock radio (no its not bose) sounds better that the laptops speakers. Oh and to the dude who satrted this post, we do talk about this topic, all the time... haha search and you will find many.

Yes, don't expect great sound from these systems. But why would you? The speakers do serve their purpose though.
