Not A Notebook Question But One About A Dell Desktop! Topic: Video Card Upgrade Dilem

Thread Starter
I ordered a Dell 4600 last year:

3.0 ghz P4 HT
1 GB Ram
120 GB 7200 HD
128 MB Nvidia 5200; i think (P.O.S)

Back then I thought I knew what I was doing getting a 128 MB video sounded cool and I thought it would run any game out there. Boy was I wrong! The questions is has anyone had any experience running a Radeon 9800 pr0 256 MB card in thier Dell desktop or heard of any stories. I have researched it but found nothing. I am just curious as if Dells internal hardware (MOBO, mem,) would be up to the task? Let me know your thoughts!

If its got an AGP slot, you're set.

As long as you know what format to buy (agp, pci) there should be no problems running any video card you want; it has nothing to do with what mobo or what kind of ram your running. As long as we are talking about a desktop here you can buy any vid card on the market (remember to check if you have agp or pci, if you have onboard video you may have to opt for the pci but since you have 128mb card in now I would be willing to bet you have an AGP slot with a card in it).
