Hello Member's, i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but...
Is anyone experiencing problems with a Sagem F@st 800 modem when booting up into WinXP sp2 on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A(i carn't find out what model i've got, where would i look for it?).
I find sometimes the modem ADSL light will continually flash (hasn't syncronised), but the power light is on, even thought the desktop is fully loaded.
I find somtimes a quick flash on the modem lights , and then a flash of a 'Blue screen', then (a sort-of MS-DOS)'Safe mode' option screen appears of which i choose 'Normal Restart', then no modem lights are on when arriving at the 'Fully loaded' desktop point.
But the modem will always work if i unplug, and then plug it back into the USB port, after i'm at the 'fully loaded' desktop stage.
I have installed the latest modem drivers, and my pc is well up-to-date with 'MS Patches & Updates'.
I did visit the 'Sagem' support website page, they suggest turning 'APM' to 'off', but i carn't find where to do that in the 'Bios' (no 'Power Management' tab), or where to change a 'Plug and Play' setting also.
I did try the modem through a 'Powered USB Hub', this didn't make a difference.
I also wanted to update my 'Bios' version, and went to the 'Fujitsu' website, i found the webpage for this, but, i don't understand which link is relevant to my needs, is it the 'ACPI' or the 'Winflash' or the 'Make bootable CD'.
If the problem can not be rectified, is there a way of getting the modem to be 'Powered up' and 'Syncronised', and the modem driver to be loaded once the rest of the system is 'Fully' loaded, or change it's 'Loading' running order
Also my USB chipset is ALi, but i don't know the exact model of it, and so don't know which driver i should choose from the 'ALi' website.
My ISP is Tiscali, and i don't think my connection has ever been broken once i've connected.
Any help would be gratefully recieved
regards
Livio
