Subwoofer and two speakers don't work.

Hey, People. Does anybody have any idea how to make the subwoofer and the other two speakers work? The sound on my 9860 kind of sucks! I can't hear the sub and the other two speakers. Something is wrong or I don't know how to make them work or at least make them sound better. Can anybody please help me? Any sugestions?

How do enable 5.1 ? Do u mean u set the realtek sound manager speaker configuration to 6 speakers?

This is kind of curious. I have sound from all 4 speakers and the sub, but in the realtek speaker configuration, it's set up as 2 speakers. If I set it to 4 speakers, the front 2 work (in the test) but the rear two do not make any sound. I'm wondering if there are actually 4 channels on the laptop itself (without external speakers hooked up) or if the speakers are actually two lefts and two rights just tied together somehow.

Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know the proper way to configure the internal speakers as 4.1?

I don't think you can, when you think about it there's really no point unless you plan on keeping your head down-low over the keyboard with the front speakers behind your ears 4.1 is for surround sound which isn't really possible with all four speakers built into a notebook chassis - as far as I'm aware they're installed in a 2.1 configuration with the extra speakers really just giving a better dispersal and volume to the sound - not surround sound.

I think you're probably right. It's not really a big deal for me, just wanted to make sure.
