Ok, I had a Dell Inspiron 2600, the motherboard died and I sold it off in parts on Ebay except the HD. 2 months later I bought the same identical computer on another forum for $100 but it has a CD-RW drive, my old one had a DVD-ROM drive. I got all the disks with it from the seller. I took out the HD that was sent in it and put mine right in and obviously my grive was already formatted from my old computer. Now I don't have the CD drive showing up in the 'My Computer' area. I have tried removing the drive turning the computer off and on and then installing it and it does not get recognized. Is there a way to install this some other way? I tried the add hardware tab in the Control Panel but thats not working. Thanks alot for any help.
