Sony Laptop

Does anyone know if Sony actually manufactures their laptops? Or, are they made by an OEM? If so, which one?
The Sony screens are often talked about as being excellent compared to other laptops. Anyone know who makes the LCD's for Sony?
This is my first post , I'm trying to decide what laptop to buy next. Have a 5 yr. old Sony which has been trouble free, need a faster one with more memory that'll last awhile. I've looked at the Vaio PCG K35 and the desktop replacement that looks awesome, but pricey. Want a good 15" or larger.
Any suggestions from you all would be greatly appreciated!
I'm not too computer literate....so forums like this one are terrific. Thanks.

Sony makes some of their own laptops and custom-orders some from Taiwanese ODMs, much like the rest of the industry.
