AMD 64 with NVIDIA Quadro

Does anyone know of a company that builds a notebook with an AMD athlon 64 (3700+, 3400+, 3200+) chip and a NVIDIA Quadro FX Go card?

Whenever I see a AMD 64 being offered it is always paired with an ATI Radeon 9700. Why is this?

Perhaps there is no chipset built for the AMD 64 and Quadro FX to work together? My apologies if that sounds a bit confused, I'm not a real buff at understanding hardware. Which may make you wonder why I'm looking for such a set-up in the 1st place. The reasons are;
1. I want 64 bit. I will use this notebook for video compositing (after effects, discreet combustion) and 3D (maya) and when After Effects and Combustion are eventually offered in a 64 bit version I'm assuming it will make a noticeable improvement. Plus 64 offers the option of using more than 4 gig of RAM (which I'm assuming can fit into the notebook)
2. I've read on several forums the Quadro FX Go card is the best for compositing and 3D.

thanks for you help and consideration,

I should also note that I'm hoping to find 1 that has a 17" screen. Infact the 17" is probably more important than the CPU or card.

thanks again for any thoughts/advice

At the present time, most notebooks only allow for up to 2GBs of RAM.

I have the HP zv5380us. It has up to 2g ram and all that you ask for but the screen. The screen is 15.4 inch and I beleave that the hp.com does list pavilion notebooks with 17 in screens.

Well i've read that the Sager 9860 will eventually support up to 4 gigs of ram (its just a bios issue?) and I think it supports either ATi or Nvidia cards. Of course the 9860 is P4 Based and only comfirmed to be 32 bit.

The next laptop from Sager will probably have all the above but with an amd64 chip.

And isnt the quadro fx a workstation chip like the 3D labs wildfire and Matrox Parhelia, if it is I doubt you'll ever see it in a laptop, I wouldnt mind it though.

I think your best bet is to wait for one of the up and coming 6800 based laptops and then perform a softmod on the card to turn it into a quaddro.

Has that been done on the desktop, I wouldnt have thought that the quadro and the 6800 would be so close, one being workstation the other being gaming basically.

I know you can softmod within a class like from Ati 9500pro to 9700.
