Alienware at select EB Games locations - Page 5

As I have stated over and over again, you are backing up your arguement with quotes from books that surely have a political bent (you are clearly a Michael Moore fan with your conspiracy theory). I have backed my position up with REAL LIFE (my life situation). The FACT is that I would give employees more money and benefits if I were to have LOWER TAXES.

Let's not start with personal attacks, ladies and gaydies.

Yeah, I wonder how that works too. I am assuming you still have to order it through Alienware. Which is fine. Otherwise you'd have to pay sales tax on the computer.

Wow they put one in Round Rock, Texas, but not Houston. Probably lost some good money not having one here, but I know it said "top" stores

Secondly, reading is half of the equation, living is the other. You said yourself that you have alot to learn, I just think it's sad that you've already made up your mind solely based on a few books you've read, instead of on real-world experience.

Again, not really sure why you care, but let me at least question something. Why is it that you assume I'm miserable? I'm fine, thank you very much, I'm just a little sick of having other people tell me how I can spend my money.

OHHH, and mad props on avoid all points I made in my post, and attacking me about my sex life.

I could care less about your sex life --- you missed the point. You wrote a list of assumptions --- I responded to your assumptions with BS --- you asked me BS --- I responded with BS.

Darth's points that you agreed with were 'agreeable.' My views don't differ. Unfortunately a few spoil it for the majority.

I do have real world experience, but no one can ever have enough. Reading is obviously not the answer to everything, but it sure helps feel in the pot holes in your mind with regards to issues. And no, I have not read 'a few' books --- I have read hundreds, on both ends of each spectrum. While the opposing sides have differing views, only one side is right in my mind, that being the side that is concerned about more than just themselves.

On one side you have a group of ignorant hypocrits, and on the other you have the exact opposite. Peter G. Peterson by the way is a Republican, and probably the furthest thing from Michael Moore. The numbers I have been using are from him, and if you want to check his credentials, just type his name into Google.

The flat tax is a tax scheme from hell --- anyone who is duped into believing it is fair has been fooled. It is really the 'rich pay nada, dump the entire burden on the poor and working class tax.'

This had dragged on too long, and to stay somewhat on topic I stopped by the EB at Washington Square only to find that there were no AWs there...

Z you must be happy to be back in the land of women-with-hairy-armpits. You must look hard to see a married woman who does not have a hyphenated last name (except for the handful of lezbos that got married in Oregon this year).

Book are overrated. I have an English minor from OSU, so you can bet I have read my share of books (everything from Allen Ginberg's "Howl" to "The Turner Diaries"). I am proud to say the only books (other than technical books) I have read in the past couple years have been Star Wars novels.

They must base it on sales. But it's odd that many of the stores are not located in major cities.

I would bet the most people in major cities go to Best Buy Wal*Mart and EB but in the cities that do not have a Best Buy and/or a Wal*Mart EB gets more sales.

Cities without either a bestbuy or walmart, i have yet to see one of those. Hell even small towns now have a walmart...
it's like that one episode of southpark that was on a couple weeks ago. to those that know, how many people do you think went to the tv section of their walmart to find its heart?

I have a Wal Mart in my town, but I usually drive to EB when I am in the market for a new game. Unless of course it is a 2 in the morning impulse buy

Walmart is a predator --- it goes into small towns, drives out the small businesses, rehires the employees of the now boarded up small businesses at minimum wage, and then runs commercials about how they rebuild communities.

If you are pro-life (lol) and you shop at Wal-Mart, consider yourself a hypocrit. Wal-Mart is China's biggest trading partner, and China practices mandatory abortions. Investing in a country which opposes your views on life is hypocritical correct? The prolifers are usually the anti-communists as well --- the same type that jump on all the right wing propoganda. Now its the terrorists --- comical --- the only terrorist threat in this country is our own government.

Spend an extra two dollars, stay away from shopping at the evil empires of America, that includes Bestbuy as well.

Sorry, I had to.

Give me a break.

i personally don't like walmart. they have done alot in this world to earn that. they are a not a great place to work, and they don't give a rats a$$ about their employees...i know that i sound like a bitter former employee of them, but i actually am not, im the friend of a bitter employee and after hearing his horror stories about the place i would never shop or work there....ever, and i don't care how much cheaper it may be.

perhaps we should move such thoughts to a separate thread, or forum? ^^;;

Knight,

Well spoken, but I do have some problems with what you've said. There's always going to be those that abuse the system. But it seems to me what you're saying is, "Well, some of them abuse the system, but let's punish em all. Ohh, and let's decide how much many they need."

Really? Try this on for size: Two fictional people, we'll call one Bob, and the other Rob. Bob makes $20k /year, Rob makes $70k a year. Bob has a family of 6 to support, Rob is single. By your reasoning, We should take 40k from Rob, give it to Bob('cause let's face it, Rob doesn't need that much money), and that should make everything fair... That sounds like...

Wait for it..

Wait for it...

COMMUNISM

Last time I checked, America was still Capitalist(at least, pretending to be). If you want a system like that, find a time machine, and go back to early 1980s Russia.
Allright, this part was quite insulting. A.) I've never stated for absolute income-equalization, the economic case of communism is to do THAT. Neither did I ever mention any set amount which government needs to come in to intevene either >_< B.) I've never advocated not rewarding people for their merits, I'm in favour of a meritocracy, something I once heard our founding fathers based this country on. I sure don't know of any founding fathers agreeing to unchecked capitalism as you've described it either, nor the plutocracy it's degenerating into. Last I checked individual freedoms and liberties were just as important as economic spending; the fact that you narrowed down the idea of America as simply capitalistic seems awfully more Marxist than anything I've ever mentioned (note: a Marxist thinker is oft given that title because they believe that economics is the end-all for any rationalization, not because they support Communism. Just to clear it up for you.) My mention of talking about how billions of money for a few individual seemed ridiculous is made to make a point for the need for taxes, not as a smash against said people; Ayn Rand may agree with you about "enlightened selfishness" and such, but it's painful enough to see that without some higher authority (in this case government) our country's going to end up in a very sorry state and a betrayal of the dreams of freedom, justice, and equality which many of our founding fathers left the Old World and came here for. Think about it.

Sorry about the last post, should've responded earlier, and ended it with that, but I was away for the holidays.
