different resolutions

Hi everyone,

is it possible to set different resolutions, for example 1600x1200 on the notebook and 1024x756 on the VGA output (for use with a proyector, TV, etc.) with this new version?. I have not been able to do that with the 3.2 installed: both displays change resolution to the maximum supported by the smaller device (1024x756 in my case).

Thanks.

Yup

I have done this with no problem. I keep my lappy at 1600x1200 at all times and then use my tv out at a lower resolotion and I sometimes use my monitor out at a different resolution. So yes, it is possible. I think all you need to do is click on the visual representation of the display you want to change in the display properties. Where it has the 1 and the 2. Just click the 2 and change the resolution there. Make sure you have extended desktop checked. I hope this helps.

As I write I'm in "Extended monitor" mode on a Dell ATI M6 with VERY old drivers. If I go to Control Panel\Display\Settings (or however you want to get there) I can click on the "1" box, set the resolution for that monitor, and click on the "2" box and set a different resolution for that monitor. In the Settings\Advanced\Displays tab you can set which monitor is the Primary (will have your Task Bar and System Tray) and which will be Secondary. I'm currently running Cat 3.6 on my 8887 and I'm sure it works the same way.
