3790 Audio Boost?

I've noticed on my buddy's 3790 that when a DVD is played that you can barely hear it through headphones - let alone through the speakers.

Is there a program or plug in that will boost the audio to make it louder?

Thanks

yeah.. it's way too low for my liking.. I just use media player classic to boost when playing movies, and quintessential eq boost when playing mp3s etc.. =(

cheap fix

Hey, an easy fix for the sound is a Boostaroo external booster...takes two AA batteries and gives the sound an overall kick (plus has three headphone jacks with no loss of sound)...does the trick for me, and no dicking around with software. Costs about $30 with shipping from ThinkGeek.com.

Get Real Alternative here http://www.free-codecs.com/Real_Alte...e_download.htm and after inserting your movie, choose "Open DVD" in the Media Player Classic that comes with it.

While the movie begins to play, choose View->Options then choose Filters->Audio Switcher.
Set Front Left to enable channels 1,3,5 and Front Right to Enable 2,3,6. This made the audio louder for me. If you choose the Intervideo video decoder in Overrides to "Prefer", the video will look alot better. You have to have installed Intervideo first, of course.

Try DFX. The bad thing is that DFX is available for mostly audio players. They do support Windows Media Player, however. That, as we all know, can play DVD.

Yeah on a plane I had to watch Borne Supremacy with the english subtitles on. Pathetic sound on this laptop. Worse than an iMac if that's possible. Anyway, I'm thinking of just buying a PC card sound card. I wonder if there are any that sit flush in the slot and not stick out.. Anyone know?
