Which one? The 7700 looks huge compared to the 5500, but the price isn't that big of a diff. Will the 7700 come in green? Whats the diffrent, which one would be better for 6 hours of highschool school and gaming? Which is a better computer? is it that much bigger? I'm going crazy! (as u can tell)

Choose 7700

I guess next gen graphic card will use pcie and not sure AW will release a new mobo for the 5500.

Think of it this way,the 5500 weighs around 8 lbs and the 7700 is another 5 lbs on top of that. Add the power brick and accessories and you're talking a good 16-17 lbs.

i ended up getting the 7700.
the only thing that concerns me is playing games that dont offer an option for the native resolution of the wide screen 17" monitor.i imagine i'll just end up playing most games in a "windowed" type resolution. i.e. you'll have side bars on screen such as those seen watching regular tv programs on a hd monitor. i'm sure they have a way to stretch the image to fit the screen but i've never seen any form of that that doesn't degrade picture qaulity.
oh well.i'll tell ya in about 12 more phases.lol

It's simple 7700 = Cutting edge & upgradable But much bigger
5500 = tried and true but maybe outdated in two years & much smaller and lighter.
as for colors who knows right now 7700 comes in gray 5500 comes in silver and blue
What the future holds only nostradamis (sp) knows but he is dead.

Here are the Dimensions for all three types of laptop takin from the aw site. Weight is given as a base number that does not include things like battery or user configured extras but will give an idea of the differnce between the systems.
The big boy first
7700
width 15.6 inches depth 11.7 inches highth 2.1 inches
Base weight 10.0 pounds
5500
width 13.8 inches depth 11.4 inches highth 1.6 inches
Base weight 7.6 pounds
Sentia the baby of the bunch
width 11.5 inches depth 9.0 inches highth 1.0 inches
base weight 3.85 pounds

As you can see the 7700 weighs only 2.4 pounds more then 5500 in it's base configuration but the 7700 can include two hard drives and two optical drives so real world weight would be more like 3 to 4 pounds more fully configured.
