Unless you can find one in a shop, you'll have to replace the keyboard.

I just replaced my Tecra M2 keyboard because of a broken F1 key. $100 Cdn, installed myself.

"My wife asked what the F1 key was for, so I told her it was to go real fast, hahahahaha."

I saw a few keyboards on ebay for $10. I was going to buy one for spare parts but never did. The good thing that the keyboard you need in works in other models. Your part # may be different.

Notebook Keyboard keys

Individual keys for laptops/notebooks are available for less than US$5.00. Just place 'eshaks' in google and it will take you there. Keys are easy to replace and save you the cost of replacing a keyboard which can cost from $120.00 to $300.00.

Toshiba Satellite 6000

Hi Everyone;

I own a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 with a pentium III, 256 MB PC133, and Window XP Pro w/ SP2. My problem is that when ever I start my notebook the keyboard does not work, then when I restart the system it's starts working again. I've check with the toshiba database and I haven't found the answer. I even switch keyboards and still the same problem.

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

Hi,

I have purchased another keyboard, it cost 70 bucks, from what i remember. After 7 months, the SAME KEY BROKE AGAIN!

But since i kept the old broken keyboard, i just took a key from it and placed in the new broken keyboard. Currently i have a F12 in the place of the up arrow.

7 months * 16 = 9 years of key replacements!

Maybe ur banging on that certain key too hard when u type, and so every one of ur keyboards is gonna have that problem.

I doubt all of toshiba's supply of keyboards have that defect, that the up arrow is easily broken. I think its more ur style of usage.

I had the same problem with my laptop where the 'F' key came out. I ordered a replacement key from LaptopKey. They also have video tutorials on how to fix your key. Check out: http://www.laptopkey.com
