As most of you are aware, the new models are coming, for the details on the new models scroll down.
We have some new info to add we thought we'd put in a separate post:
-The 8890 is coming with the 16" SXGA. The LCD was just released just a few weeks back replacing the 15.7" LCD.
-The 5680 will be released with a WIDE ANGLE VIEW LCD. For everyone really missing it, the option will be back =)
-Upgrades are still being looked at and by no means written off as people like to rumor. Once the new units are released, Sager will have to do some testing for the possible upgrades which could be offered in following weeks to the new models shipping.
-The 5670 and 8887 as of right now appear as though they will still be available for 1-2 weeks once the 8890 and 5680 are released. If they have a price drop once the new units are released we don't expect so, but there is no official word on it.
-For the audio professionals out there, the new units are supposed to be using the same AC97 sound system.
-We hope to have the pricing available on the 8890 in about 1 1/2 weeks and have them available for pre-ordering (Aug 8th-9th-ish) if nothing goes wrong.
-We also are hoping and believe the units will begin shipping in about 2 1/2 weeks (Aug 15th-16th-ish).
-The 5680 may be released WITH the 8890 or may be released shortly after, no evidence is solid enough to give word either way and won't until another 1-2 weeks.
-The 4060 is on schedule to get the 800FSB and the ATI9600PRO (M10-P) around the same time as the 4760 which right now we're told October.
-Custom paint will be offered on the 5680 and the 8890 with full Sager warranty from PC Torque 2-3 weeks after the release of the units. This will be the first time painted notebooks are offered with the full sager warranty. We will offer many colors that we have tested and also offer color matching if you want to send a sample in.
