That is cool, but assuming that they are more expensive than sager, and the fact that that price does not even include a cool custom paint job, I think I would rather buy the sager, although if they had a cool paint job, the hypersonic price might be acceptable

Not necesarily. At that time, a few weeks ago, Hypersonic was actually cheaper than PCT. My system came up to $3104. Also, I can pretty much dismiss the myth that it takes hypersonic a long time to ship the laptop. Mine was actually early by 1 day. The expected shipment for my laptop was dec 1st, but they ship it on the nov 30th. So I got it early by 1 day.

It is true. When I ordered my Hypersonic EX7 it was priced a little less than a equally configured Sager system, and that was with the $99 pixel guarentee included.

The only thing about he hypersonic pixel guarantee is in the small font, " 17" screens will have no more than 1 dead/partially-lit pixel in the center screen area and no more than 2 dead/partially-lit pixels outside of the center area"

So the sager laptops offer the same warranty for free for the center screen portion i believe, but not quite for the area outside the center area.

Also, it seems that the hypersonic systems that i keep configuring are closer to AW prices...

I actually traded in my gx7 and paid the difference for a new ex7, and hypersonic arranged to cross ship it to minimize down time. At that time, Hypersonic priced almost 200 dollars cheaper (including educational discount) and this is with their warranty, which is no doubt much better than sager's.

I also got y gx7 (8790) for 300 dollars less than pctorques prices, and this was with AS5. The thing is, hypersonic prices fluctuate a lot, and sometimes you jsut get lucky. At worst though, you pay the same amount, but for better warranty and better service.

My computer also shipped out a day early as well, so yeah I'm very satisfied with my experience.

RxLS1, I believe you are mistaken.
Go to Hypersonic' site and read up on thier No dead Pixel policy again.
If you take the $99.00 option your screen is guarenteed against any dead pixels, and that means NO dead or Lit Pixels. In which case if you do have one after it is shipped (gets tested for it before hand) they will pay all costs to get your screen replaced with a new Perfect screen. If I am correct that is what happened isn Fungo' s case.

I believe you. I wanted either the GX7 or CQ6. However, I never found the price cheaper than PCT. In the end, I got my 3790 with PCT and the price today remains over a $100 less. Maybe, I never checked Hypersonic's site often enough. (Though my wife would swear I did daily.)

that is what it states in the paragraph below their guarantee. but if you follow the superscript and look at what it says a the bottom of the page, it actually states what I had copied and pasted from their website.

Yet i could be wrong b/c I have never dealt with them, that could just be something they do in case they dont want to help out those extra rude/disgruntled customers.

I do like the idea that they offer an educational discount though, I was unaware of that I also like the idea that were allowed a trade-in/upgrade.

That's Hypersonic's default pixel policy that comes standard with all of its systems. Paying extra is for absolutely none (:

Haha I checked it on a daily basis too, and unfortunately 4 days after I ordered, price dropped by about $150 (!?!?!). I called them up and was able to get around 70 dollars back in credit, so I'm not too sore about it. But yeah it just goes to show you can't tell.

The price has gone back up since then but oh well.

If you read my post last friday, I mentioned that I chosed the $99 NO dead pixel guaranteed. My system came with 1 lit pixel on the upper left corner (not center). I called them up and they shipped me a new screen a day later. So I can attest that the $99 "no dead pixel" policy is for 100% perfect screen.

By the way, I had 5 laptops prior to my EX7, ALL of them came with at least 1 dead or lit pixel. So it's the first freakin time that I have a perfect screen with my EX7. Whew!!! It feels great

congrats on the perfect screen . I am a bit of a perfectionist, so if there was one bad pixel, I think i would go mad b/c i would always be thinking about it/looking at it.

What was the price difference from the GX7 to the upgrade EX7?
Thanks
Yeah i would like to know this as well.
it was the price difference between my original gx7 ($2200, i got lucky, buying it at the lowest price point) and the price of the ex7 I wanted configured (around $2750). There was a further price drop of around 70 bucks, so I was able to get Hypersonic to cover the shipping of my system back to them along with a harddrive upgrade. Overall I paid about $550 I think.

However, this trade in might have been easier to arrange because my system was just under a month old. If you've had your system for a longer time I don't know whether u get back the entire value of your gx7 in credit.
