Request for help, relating CPU, HDD, and noise

I have a number of problems I'd like to solve, among them are a overheating problem ( It shuts down when stressing the CPU ) , a noise ( CPU-fan noise ) problem and a sucky hdd problem which I would like to solve by removing the thermal paste and putting on some new one ( CPU ) which should solve the overheating problem. Replacing the fans and the hdd, and thereby solving their relating problems.
The problem is that I don't know how to open up the case, I have tried to open it by just unscrewing everything and then 'lift' the case, but I stopped when I realised it would go wrong if I proceeded.
So, I am here to ask for someone who has done this before, or has obtained knowledge of the 'how-to' in any other way. Someone with enough expertise to give me a global tutorial of how to open up an Acer Aspire case and obtain acces to the cpu, vpu and fans.
For people that ask themselves why I don't contact Acer to let them solve this problem for me is that I can't afford to lose this computer more than a week, and that will probably be the case. Plus I don't have a 'carry-in' warranty, so that probably means I have to pay for any repairs anyway and I don't want to do that neither.

I have an ACER Aspire 1622 LM.

Opening a computer can be very easy or very hard, depending on the model. I'm sure some fellow members would be willing to assist you, except it will be hard for us to guess what Acer model you have

The 1620 series have a standard desktop P4 -- which means they generate more heat and will shutdown at a temperature of 90C approx. Have you tried blowing out the exhaust vents with some compressed air? Often these collect alot of dust and plug up -- which would explain why the fan noise is so loud and the laptop is shutting down. I did this to a Sony vaio that was having the same problem (fan was going nuts and computer shutdown after a short time of use) and after blowing out the vents everything worked fine.

The hard drive might be slow due to fragmentation, or you could have a lot of programs starting up. Have you tried defragging and scanning for spyware with something like adaware se & spybot. You should run a test over a www.pcpitstop.com and see if there are any problems. You could have a run-away process or a trojan that is causing a high load on the CPU which in turn would be responsible for the slow performance and laptop shutting down.

Generally the steps for opening a laptop chassis are:
1. Removal of battery and cd/dvd drive (if applicable)
2. Remove all screws from bottom and back
3. Remove keyboard (disconnect keyboard cable) and the plate covering buttons and LEDs
4. Unscrew and remove LCD Cable(s) and hing covers
5. Remove LCD
6. Disconnect touch pad cable and remove palm rest
7. Unscrew m/b and remove. (depending on location of CPU)

Well, I still don't have a clue of how to open the case, but I gave up and called Acer support. They will pick it up, and repair it.. I hope ! ( Fan starts making more noise, because I started typing :-D ).
