Nvidia drivers

I have a question would all 9860 users check their current drivers mine shows as version 67.5 which is strange since nvidia only has the 66.90 drivers out has anyone else noticed this besides me and are the driver versions displayed correct or is it some kind of screw up?

A small update it appears that the 66.9 drivers provided by Nvidia do not specifically support the go 6800 and that the only play to get updated drivers would be via Sager this would also imply that the omega drivers would not work with our current cards correct ?

I've got the 67.5s too. Hopefully if I benchmark this baby enough I can find the best drivers...

I've been using the 70.90 Drivers from this site for a few day without any problems. I used the free 3DMark05 and got slightly higher scores on stock settngs 2890 (2768 on 67.50). If you use them make sure you download the *.inf file in the next column and replace it after extracting the files.

The 70.90 drivers appear to be coinciding well with 3DMark05 quite well so far. I've gotten no lockups or system reboots while running on the AC Adapter. I'm doing further experimentation to see if the problem is actually solved, or if it's just a fluke of some kind.

But for now, thanks Comp-tato!

They seem to work good on the 9860. I'm not sure if they will work good on all laptops but can't think of another Nvidia Laptop.

Verrin were you rebooting on openGL games and 3dmark05 as well as aquamark3?

I had the same problem but they would run w/o the power cord plugged in. If the cord was plugged in they would reboot the system w/o any error.

I just today received my rma machine and am about to start benchmarking

Yes. Doom 3, Far Cry, 3Dmark05 and Aquamark were all having lockup/rebooting issues during or after they were loading. These drivers seem to have solved the problem so far. I'm not 100% sure if they did the trick, but they are definitely helping.

I had the exact same problem except when I wasn't plugged in.
I'll have to test these drivers on the other system but to see if that would work

Didnt work for me /cry oh well I got my rma number yesterday and will be sending it back as soon as the shipping labels get to me still kinda frustrating I know there has to be some kind of hardware issue or maybe a bios setting but oh well as long as it works when I get this one.

The 30.43 - is the normal fixed *.inf with overclocking enabled
The 30.43 P - is the proformance fixed *.inf with overclocking enabled - since difference machines may need different tweaks, I never used this one.

What am I missing?

I downloaded the latest driver to my desktop, went to set up. the NVIDIA windows 2000/XP display drivers screen comes up. goes to "installing components" , gets about halfway through. Then a window comes up that says The file 'nv4.mini.sys" on NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP Driver Librarey Installation disk 1 is needed. I can type ok (which does nothing) or cancel... do I actually put in the original driver CD to proceed or am I not downloading the file right? thanks

Try uninstalling the drivers first. Then install again.
