What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.97)

* Based on the Catalyst 4.12 Beta drivers.
* New Radlinker installation method, now it should install correctly every time.
* Fixed gamma issues with color control panel.
* WMV acceleration is now off by default, you can turn it on in the Options panel.
* New quick shortcut for Radlinker, just right click your desktop and go directly to all the Advanced 3D settings.
* Fixed Standby/Suspend/Hibernation bug.
* Added a lot of new resolutions for wide screen monitor/dfp users.
* Fixed the Forced Anisotropic settings, now they should not reset to Performance mode.
* Removed the special Counter Strike OpenGL from the package, now that CS:S is available, this is no longer necessary.
* Fixed some uninstall issues, now the drivers should completely be removed if you select to do so.

Enjoy!

I've seen these drivers mentioned a lot on these forums. What exactly are they (other than the obvious) and are they better than the factory drivers from ATI?

THey allow you to overclock your videocard. You can push up the speed on the core.

Another thing is the drivers are tweaked so it runs more efficiently

lastly, they contain softmod for things such as 9500 to 9700 etc.?

That's a step forward considering that the option doesn't do anything... Not only has ATI said that it is disabled in the drivers and you can't use the registry tweak to turn it on like Omega tries to, but if you do try to turn it on, it is very obvious when Windows Media Player 10 does not let you enable the support for it (option grayed out)

was it ever enabled in the first place? I guess I never really noticed one way or the other.
