does catalyst work on the mobility 9700

greetings
tried installing the catallyst control centre 4.11 but i get an error error message saying that the video driver inf hasn';t been installed. this is after i have installed the drivers from the cd that came with the laptop. btw am talkiing about the 8790 here. i also intalled the .net framework etc from the microsoft website. the 4.11 with ati control centre also gives the same error message, does anybody have a clue as to whats wrong............

the reg ati drivers DO NOT support the Mobility line of video, you'll find many of us use a modded version, the Omega Drivers etc....

there are some modding tools pjate, etc.... I'm sure someone has the links for the modding tools, in the meantime Omega Drivers

ok, i'm sure this has been mentioned before but can u point me to a brief desc on what's the difference between the actual catalyst and thre modded drivers. should i just go on with the drivers provided by sager or is it beneficial but at the same time less risky

another thing,
i all likely hood i will be formatting my com again, so can i install the omega drivers straightaway or do i have to install the drivers which came with the 8790 and then add the omega drivers
