How do you adjust the 'Alps' touchpad to be more responsive to taps??

hi,

Although, I don't use it others family members do. It seems my old inspiron 7000 has a much more responsive touchpad, than the 'Alps' on my new Dell Inspiron XPS. I have tried adjusting it but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It seems to have a slight hesitation when you tap it. Any way to address this ?? Any suggestions or alternatives much appreciated.!!

Thanks,
Bookhead

As always, I figure it's best to ask "The Brain" here!!

I use a Logitech Optical Trackman w/red ball I don't care for the touchpad, I don't need to have it anywhere near the computer yet it does everything I want.

I have mine set for a pretty light touch... unfortunately, the Alps isn't quite of the same caliber used in previous models. It's simply not as responsive for most people.
