Jury is still out.. screen is nice.. buti am starting to think i want more vertical space.. - coming form a 12" powerbook.

seems fast.. if i keep it my 7200 rpm drive will go in it.

construction is upper middle end.. not totally cheap.. but not ibm or apple quality.

the tools they package are rubbish.. from photo tools to dv tools to wireless tools.. and they are trying to do the recovery partition thing.. but their implementation of it is extremely basic.

I't light, the case is plastic.. the keyboard has 0 flex.. it's not loud.. don't hear the fans even when they are on.

ermm.. that's about it i guess..

FYI, the case is not plastic, not all the way around anyway. it's a magnesium alloy.

i c - the top and the bottom.. very top and very bottommay be.. but it's still a predominantly plastic machine.. which is ok.. just an observation.

any hints on the 260? I am really in love with the screen.. it's amazing.
fyi the link in your sig is broken, it's missing a k - not the descriptor but the actually html portion of it.

it's a lot less plastic than my 600m, which I think is ALL plastic. still, a lot less metal than an IBM or a PowerBook.

thanks for pointing out the sig problem -- it's been fixed.

I think the biggest "hint" I can give you is to make the restore CD's immediately. Not after you've aciidentally wiped the info, then go looking for it later!
