Help needed on new Compaq V2000

I recently purchased a new V2000 from Compaq and everything has been great except for one huge problem. My computer connects to almost every website except for sites that i have to log in. This includes my school website and my bank account and the online poker program that i run. I tried changing all the security and privacy settings and i turned all the firewalls off. It just doesn't connect to these sites and i have no clue why. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm not too sure about this but my co-worker had the same problem with her computer, she couldn't log-in to any sites. We're on a network and the computer techician had to change her the proxy settings on her computer. Hope this helps... you might want to call your internet provider and tell them your situation and what network hardware you're using.

Ah! The exact same thing is happening with me as well! I have a Presario 2500, and lately I haven't been able to access my G-mail, Amazon.com, Ebay, or any site that requires a secure connection.
