How does your 700m run?? - Page 4

Use Logitech iTouch for 700m

Just a recommendation.

Download iTouch from the Logitech website and use it on your 700m. It works great and looks like it belongs on your computer when you adjust the volume with Fn F5,F6,F7. Just hide the taskbar icon and you're set!

I hope someone will find this helpful.

I've ordered an inspiron 700m, I'm hoping it's great and I won't regret not buying an ibook or powerbook

The battery looks bad though, that's my biggest concern.

What is the heat generated by it like? I'm using an iBook to type this message (someone elses) and it's sitting on my lap and it's just warm. My 700m is a 2ghz Centrino with 1Gig ram and the 8 cell battery. What do you think the heat generated by it will be like?

I love the laptop though
Funny, my left touchpad key is lower than the right...I ended up having to return the laptop because whenever I had a CD in the machine would shake so badly and the touchpad keys would jitter so much that it was unworkable. The replacement is much better althought the left touchpad key is still lower than the right.

Question: My original 700m DVD player would not play some DVD ROMs and some DVD-RW. Thenew 700m came with a DVD player that will not play DVD-RW and I need to return it for a new one. Has anyone else had problems with their CDRW/DVD ROM? drives?

The old drive was a Toshiba, the new one is a Philips.

Anyway, movies look excellent, the 8 cell battery life is great, and the laptop is extremely light and portable.
How well does it run WoW? What res do you run it at? I'm torn between a light notebook like the 700m and something that could handle WoW and a few other games fairly well say like a Dell 6000 (horrid x300 vid card tho) or a Toshiba S2 (with 6600 vid card). I'd prefer a lighter notebook but I would probably play games enough on the road/home such that I'd prolly be better off with a dedicated vid card even if its not my main machine.

Just wish Dell and other companies would have that accupoint "dot" pointing device in their machines like IBM & Toshiba as that is my only other hang up with the smaller dell.
