Hibernation - Keyboard Conflict

I minor problem I've had is when I am on battery and the machine tries to go into hibernation, I get a message there's a conflict with the Standard 101 Keyboard driver and I should update it. Unfortunately, when I try to do that, I'm told what I have is as updated as it gets.

Personally, I couldn't really care except when it happens, it also shuts down my wireless connection and to reestablish it, I have to reboot.

The simple solution is to disable the power management system, which normally I wouldn't mind, but occasionally having the PMS would save me from losing data when I get distracted from my work while working on battery.

So, does anybody out there have any suggestions? An alternate driver? Whatever? Like I said, its not a major issue, except when I am down stairs on battery and I get distracted and then lose my wireless lan forcing me to reboot and use up even more battery power.

Are you uninstalling the previous keyboard drivers via Device Manager first? You can see their names and where they reside via Driver Details, but they are probably 'cached' due to System File Protection. My keyboard device says "Standard 101\102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard" (perhaps due to the fact that I use a Natural frequently).

Also, you might consider disabling Hibernation and just using Standby. It won't save your data like Hiber, but you can set the battery alarms to go into Standby at a higher percentage of remaining time. Standby does still use some power, and it should eventually run out the battery anyway, but if you know you're on batteries and are coming back, it might be better than the Hiber hassle. Good luck!

I found the problem Marquis. Take a look here then visit Adobe and update the ATM thingy ... fixed it on my i8600.

I'll give it a whirl. Not that its urgent, I just really don't use Hibernate or Standby. But I'll try it to see if it works. Thanks for the tip.
