Taskbar Quicklaunch

Dumbass that I am I accidently deleted the Show Desktop icon from my quicklaunch taskbar. I had downloaded the newest Omega drivers and the icon was all screwed up. I have maxmem on the quicklaunch and for some reason after installing the new drivers the Show Desktop was the same icon as maxmem. I created a shortcut that was the proper icon and used that, then I had the brilliant idea to delete the original...now nothing.

Is there a way to get it back or did I lose it forever?

what the above doesn't state though is that you should probably save the original icon (probably in windows folder or somewhere you won't delete it) you create, because the one you drag into the quicklaunch taskbar will only serve as a shortcut.

Did you just shut down quick launch? if that's the case:

Right Click on the taskbar, go to properties, and there should be a column of boxes, and one of them should be show quick lauch, and enable it, and click Apply, you will be set.

in addition, use Windows+M to show your desktop in the future, much faster than the icon.

Windows+D might be better option as it acts as a toggle.

Windows+M will minimize all the active windows.

I didn't shut down quicklaunch, but I did delete the original icon, which obviously made the short cut ineffective. Is there no way to get it back? Thanks ash and coffee I'll use those shortcuts as well.

Windows+M doesn't minimize everything everytime, even when the "show deskto" icon will.
