Can anyone report what there recharable battery life is on this mouse? ie, how long before you have to recharge, mine only lasts a few hours.

No experience with the MX900, but a few hours seems low.
My MS Intellimouse Explorer for BlueTooth is using the original set of two AAs for over 45 days of 12 hour computing days, and only just popped up a box saying "Have spare batteries ready". Apparently it'll last another week or so before a "Critical battery level" warning pops up, and I'm testing that theory...

Good timing. I just tested to see how long mine would last. I didn't put it in its cradle the whole time- it either was being used or sat idle next to my 8790. Ends up it lasted approximately 48 hours. Whether that's good or not, I don't know. I usually just throw it back in the cradle whenever I'm going to bed or am at work, so I've never had a good handle on how long it lasted.

Just last night I bought a 4-pack of regular AA's to throw in my Targus bag just in case I take it with me and the charge goes dry.

I'm considering getting a charger and an extra pair of rechargeables so that I'd always have a working pair of batteries.

I must have defective batteries or something. Mine lasts one day. Or maybe I just use mine heavier than you FT. Quick question though FT, how do you keep the mouse turned off when you are transporting it? Just remove the batteries?

I'm asking for a bluetooth mouse for Christmas, so I was wondering if anyone would recommend the Logitech mouse or the Microsoft mouse over the other.

I've only recently started taking the MX w/ me to work. Before I just used a wired Intellimouse at work and the MX only at home. But dang it, I like the MX so much, I don't want to use the Intellimouse anymore. So I've been pulling the batteries. It's a 20-25 min drive to/from work. I might just start to leave it be if I get an extra pair of batteries. In fact, I'm lazy, so I might just start leaving it anyway so I don't wear the battery door down.

Wooster, I haven't used the MS BT mouse, but before my MX900, I'd used Intellimouse Explorers exclusively since they first came out years ago. I was always leery of trying anything else since I liked them so much, but now that I've got the Logitech, I kick myself for ever having thought like that. Too bad you don't know anyone that's got one so you could test-drive it and see for yourself if it fits your personal tastes.

What kind of batteries do they use, just the standard rechargable AA/AAA's?
They take AA batteries. The ones that come w/ the Logitech are no-name Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. I would assume any type of AA-size battery would work in it.

yea, but only Ni-Mh batteries if you put it in it's cradle.

I would hope that no one'd put regular AA's in the charger and hope something good would happen
