Dec 8, 2005 (a day that shall live in ...?) Where is 17 WUXGA?

It had been rumored that the 17 WUXGA would be available to today. Well, today is here and the 17 WUXGA isn't.

Any update rumors - or preferably facts?

The best guess we were given is between mid Dec and Mid Jan. before it would be available. However i have to emphasize the word "guess".

This is killing me too. I hope that the 17 WUXGA is similar to quality of the Sony screens. Too many complaints from the Dell forums regarding the 9200.

This question is directed towards Luke specifically but any general comments would most likely help. Is there going to be any option to buy just the 17" WUXGA screen? I have recently bought a 9860 with the 17" WSXGA+ and it may be worth it in the future. Is anyone familiar with how much would each of these LCD units cost, be it from PCTorque or from some wholesale outlet? I suppose I should do some more research but I’ll send this out and see what surfaces.

In experience with these types of things, even if it were "rumored" to be available on the 8th of Dec. (Assuming Eurocom is the basis of that information) Expect it on the 8th or later of January...

Luke has the best answer really... It's all best guess.. But I would say you won't see it till after the first of the year.... Even if it is available now, I know shipping between now and the 1st is pretty well screwed... (Yay for Christmas) ...

It'll probably cost you maybe between 600-800 for just the LCD screen possibly more.
