dude you contradict stories more than anyone i have ever seen. How did you email the guy for 2 weeks when you just bid yesterday? again you need to get your stories straight b4 you come on here asking for advice. You don't make any sense whatsoever in your posts

i got a second chance offer. but the more i look at it the more it looks like a scam.

heres why.

THe Original Listing is from Tennesee.
The paypal address he wants u to send to is in canada.
at the end of the second chance it says Thank you,
bobioaia88. bobioaia88's ebayid comes up from france. i emailed spoof@ebay.com and ill tell you guys how it ends up
don't know what you are talking about...the guy selling the auction is: caojy6 Jun-21-01 Present, and has a pretty good selling record.
your link is dead, b/c you have to sign into your account to get that info. so we don't know who bobioaia88, but his membership date is 06dec04

the story is giving me a headache...so i don't know why i was writing.

i will say that caojy6 has another 700m for sale with zero starting bid. to me if a person is doing no reserve zero starting bid, i'd be wary. anyways, that is just me.

ok, so i know i said i wasn't going to write anymore, but given that the seller has a good profile and id is since 2001, the email is probably a fake. check the thread of the email by right clicking and clicking on properties to see if it really came from ebay. my guess is not. if you have doubts, sign on to ebay and email the seller directly that way rather than through an email you received. the email is what is fishy. considering there were lots of people bidding higher than you, that seems highly implosible that all of them didn't pay.

gosh, ebay gets too dramatic sometimes...
i myself would love to just buy at dell.com
post #26 of 37
^^^yeah, i heard that it was dell snipers that give ebay a bad name...that's my conspiracy theory and i'm sticking with it.

he should have paid for the grand theft auto...man the seller left him a pretty harsh feedback on that one (ebay id: djanz2005). hopefully for him, he will clear it up with the seller.
Why would someone bid $46.50 for a used copy of GTA San Andreas when you can buy a new one for $49.99 at the store?????????

smack

bc davidj can get away with not paying for it on ebay but that won't happen @ the stores....watch out for this fool
post #29 of 37
that is pretty much a textbook scam. email all the people who bid on something and lost and tell them to send money. it's better than just not sending something they sell on ebay because this way there is no fraud protection. sorry you got excited.
and you gotta stop bidding on things you dont want/cant pay for. geez.

man there is a lot of love in here...i'm getting a bit homophobic now and must step out for a smoke. yeah, i hate emails

Second chance offers are the owners 'shrills' who have failed to get you up higher and got stuck being the winner. They reneg but owner offers the shrills bid to try to get you to buy the over priced item at the price you were not willing to pay go look for another item don't buy off this type of the owners shrill this time or at other time. This is a dishonest owner that will use a person or people to bid up the price on a ongoing basis!
i agree, but i'm sticking to contention that it is a fradulent email not from the seller. the seller has a good track record
post #33 of 37
this ebay auction is a scam. This is a classic ebay fraud tactic. To e-mail the second highest bidder saying the auction winner for whatever reason chose not to purchase it. There are at least a dozen threads about ebay auction scams that mention this...
unfortunately it's normally done by someone other than the lister...

i wouldn't say the auction itself is a scam though.

for ebay bidding, if it is too good to be true, it is not.
