Anyone tried Battlefield Vietnam on NP3790?

Has anyone at all tried playing Battlefield Vietnam on a NP3790? What was the result?

I'm getting no response to this question:

I can't possibly be the only NP3790 owner to have tried BFV...

Thanks,
Jeff

I had the same problem. After exhaustive research, i was only able to get BF1942 Secret Weapons of WWII to work.

I think this is how i did it, but i'm not positive - it was a couple months ago...

go to C: -> EA Games -> Battlefield 1942 -> bf1942 -> Settings

then, open VideoDefault with notepad. Change the last line from ...allowAllRefreshRates 0 to ...allow AllRefreshRates 1 - so the only thing you're doing is changing the very last character to a 1. (I believe it's originally a 0, but i'm not positive).

As for other version sof BF, all i could find was that ATI cards don't support Transform & Lighting or some crap that they insist on putting in every version except secret weapons.

If you find a way to get the others to play on the 3790, please share it with me...good luck

err im an ex bf / bf:v modder try downloading the debug executable (can be found at fileplanet.com or filefront.com) and running it when it crashes go to the mod/logs and the only file that should be in there is a log of what just happened. Try to see if you can make any sense of it. If not post what it says here and i'll take a look.

Something about the fact that the screen is wide?

This happens even if I set the desktop to 800x600 (16 or 32bpp) manually before starting.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks! I found the solution:

In VideoDefault.con, change

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0

to

renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

Now working as advertised...
