Yes, I too would like to flash to the most current bios for my NP8887. A previous post pointed me to http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/old_bios.html where the latest bios was R3.06a.128. Is this it? Or is Gentoo's correct?

Still waiting on a kind soul to confirm or inform me of which bios to use. Perhaps I should add that my machine is a P4 2.8 WITHOUT hyperthreading. However, I desire to use the TV card and previous posts say that a bug in the old Bios doesn't like Omegas and screws up the TV picture. The solution seemed to be to flash to the new bios, but first, no one is telling me which one it is and second, will it work with my non-HT system?
Please, some help!

just to let you know the flash makes your os think you have 2 processors i think or at least thats what it says in my device manager

The 2 processor thing is the HT in action. However, my chip does not have HT, so I was wondering if this newer bios would have an adverse effect? Also, what version is the bios? Is it the same or newer than the one I have linked in the above post?

I have no clue what the current bios is for the 8887. my bios says 1.17.01 It has had no problems scince the day i got it. As to wheather the ht bios helps preformance wise u'd have to ask the pros in the forums cause idk. It does kinda mess things up in linux tho.

So...
Still waiting for a "pro" to take notice of this thread. Just to reiterate, I have a pre-Feb 2003 NP8887 running the current Omega drivers and a non-HT 2.8 processor. Consequently, when I use the TV tuner, the picture is very fuzzy. Thus, I am wondering the following two things:
1) Will flashing to the newest bios, reputed to enable the HT in HT-processors but also fix the Omega/TV tuner glitch, harm my non-HT system?
2) Is the bios posted upon the eurocom website, http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/old_bios.html, R3.06a.128, the most current bios for my model?
Please, will someone help me out?
