DVD Burner not working, 4750

Whenever I burn a DVD, it says it burns, but then when it's done, I try it and it says error on my drive.

I can play DVDs just fine, and I've tried it on different computers, it always is an error.

Also it doesn't look like in actually burned anything when I look on the DVD.

Anyone have a solution or anything that could help?

I'm using Nero, whatever version came with the laptop. I think the burner is the 4x DVD-RW.

Thanks

need more info

use nero infotool to find out what model and firmware your dvd burner is at. Unfortunately nobody will be able to help u unless you provide that info.

thats the latest firmware as far as i know. what version of nero are you at? might be some strange bug in it. Im currently using 6.6.0.3, but then again i have a pioneer unit so I'll only be so much help.

could also be poor quality media or just a bad batch. does burning cd's work ok?

Try using a blank DVD that is meant for "up to 4x only," NOT "up to 8x." The latest firmware, which it appears you have, should allow you to burn 8x DVDs, but still, if I were to try anything I would say try to find a DVD+R (not - R) which is up to 4x and not more. Also buy a well known brand. Hope this helps.

try a different brand of dvd media to rule that out. pick something big brand name such as tdk or memorex
