Hmm.. Does it come in with a utility diskette? I remmeber having this problem LONG TIME AGO and the diskette fixed the problem. From the information we have now, it might sound stupid, but I can say this: Make sure the connections to the HD and the motherboard are tightly seated in. Make the HDD has power connector plugged in and the IDE ribbon cable tightly seated in. The IDE cable might be defective, it has happened to me before. Try replacing the IDE cable (maybe use the CDs IDE ribbon cable). Make sure its on the end of the IDE cable closest to the middle connector. Make sure its connected to IDE_0 (or IDE_1 if that's the lowest number) of the motherboard. I guess that's all I can help you with. Hopefully someone else ACTUALLY knows the problem. Good luck and let us know what's going on with the HD!

make sure you have a molex (or sata) power connector on it...make sure the ribbon isn't upside down...make sure the connections are all the way in...and plug it into an ide connector, not your...cpu

usb flash drive isn't connected...took out the vid card and one of the cd rom drives...
i've partitioned the hd with WD data life tools
one partition 200gb ntfs or nfts however it is
trying to install win xp w/ sp1 off the cd now
it loads up asks to hit F6 for raid(i skip this part)
then it loads up all the drivers it needs off the cd
next it says "Setup is starting Windows" however at this point it just hands there..i've left it there...and its been there for about 5 minutes now

anyone know why this might be ? why it just hangs there?..
