Depends on what you mean with "best." For example, is it least power consuming, largest, brightest, highest contrast, most pixels, best viewing angles, or what?

Haha ..

Best == brightest, best viewing angles, in term of quality.

I think Eurocom has the same LCD specs as Sony, and isn't limited like Sony. I think they offer alot more configurations.

The best I've seen are the enhanced Xbrites, Brightview (HP and Sager) and Trubrite (Toshiba).

The best of this is the WUXGA 17 inch screen on the Sony A series.

So my answer would be Sony.

the reason i said sony is for a few reasons.. contrast.. clarity... brightness... viewing angle.. all of these thigns are SUPERB on the new xbrite screens. I am a SONY HATER and i jus tbought a s260 cuz i love hte screen that much.. well atnd it fit the form factor i was looking for etc.. but the screen is phenomenal. I use all ibm at work.. wiht a few dells here and there.. and had a 12" pb before.. so i feel i have used enough to have a well rounded opinion. That said.. i certainly haven't seen them all.

personally, i'd have to go with the fujitsu Crystal View screen. Since fujitsu's aren't available for viewing at most retail stores, I bought my first fujitsu (N5010 with a 600:1 contrast ratio) on blind faith, based on what i read about the screen. After comparing the screen to the xbrite and other technologies, i was, and still am, very happy about my decision. If you live on the west coast, you can check out the screen in person at any fry's store, or if you're on the east coast, i think jandr might have them.
