I can't believe over 50 people have viewed this and not one has attempted to answer this question. I guess some people only take what they need from these boards and never give back..oh well.

To answer your question I think it's safe to assume you'll get atleast 3.5 hrs without playing games or dvds. I'm not speaking with experience but the 3790 is what I'm seriously considering buying. IMHO 3790 is the best Centrino based laptop on the market. Good luck!!

It depends on 6 or 12 cell batt, the applications that you are running and the settings (i.e. max batt or performance). I have the 12 cell and it's about 5 hrs.

i'm in the library right now running on batteries and mine says 4:03 left. I have been sitting here about 15 minutes and it took me about 15 minutes to walk here so about 4:30. However, I don't have my screen brightness turned down at all. So with brightness at low you might be lookin at 5 hours with the 12 cell battery. I love my 3790, it is a mobile gaming/media center/homework assistant. GOD DAMMIT there is this ****ing kid with his headphones all the way up. He was listening to ricky martin before and humming along with it, what a ****ing loser.

just been using the 3790 for a week now. With the 6 cell and normal windows applications (mostly browsing), uxga screen, with full brightness, 32bpp color, etc I would say more like 3hrs. But a great laptop, absolutely no regrets.

on 12 cell... i get around 3-4 hrs of gaming

I concur on the 12 cell. There's really no reason not to get one. You'll get almost five hours with full brightness and normal Word and web use. Most likely closer to three hours with gaming or DVD's, but there are other factors too, like hard drive rpm, speaker volume, and most importantly, whether the wireless adapter is enabled. Leave this off and use an ethernet cable can almost get you an extra hour. (But totally defeats the purpose of going mobile, unless all you do is edit photos and type letters)

srw, I just wanted to say that most people don't avoid posts out of arrogance in my experience, and there have been alot of other interesting posts lately. This one just slipped through the cracks.

I concur with up to 5 hrs. on the 12 cell...I had both the 6 and the 12 cell and I highly recommend the 12.

Of course, it depends on what you're doing, but even with heavy use you can get over three hours.

Best,

P

Cool, I followed this thread from the very beginning and kinda felt sorry for the guy. I was just dissapointed at the number of views with out a response. It just seems that out of those 50 someone could've said something even if they were just quoting someone else. No offense to anyone I just want to see anyone that might be interested in Sager happy and enlightened is all!

With wireless off, brightness turned down, and the Echo Indigo out I can pull upward of 6 hours of coding or typing on my 12-cell, but that's the extreme end.

With everything on, brightness up, and the Echo Indigo in and playing music (An extra 3 or so watts) it's about 4 hours.

Cut all of the 12-cell numbers in half and you have the 6-cell numbers.
