Alright, I need to find a good deal on an ipod for Christmas. Ebay is out of the question, though if it is really cheap I'll go with ebay. Other websites will be fine. I am trying to find an ipod mini, possibly silver, for my sister. Between $100-$150. Please help .

Well, if you are desperate, you could try freeipods.com. My friend got his in the mail two weeks ago. Or else, I'm sure you can find a few Christmas deals floating around in stores like BestBuy...

Ipod Mini

Dude IPODs are really hot right now 100-150 will buy u a mini with a smashed display. Used minis would sell for just under 200 to low 200ish depending on condition. Oh yeah Freeipods is awesome I got my 20gig free from there. Took about a month for the whole process.

What's with this blatant iPod bashing? iPods have their advantages too, you know. And apparently their advantages appeal to some people, just like the advantages of the iRiver H320 or the Rio Carbon or the Creative Zen Micro appeal to others.

I got an Ipod for christmas and their unbelievable, the sound quality is amazing. The only thing I'm not too proud of is the battery life. Not sure where you can get one for cheap, but if you are to spend full price, I think you should go for it. Its worth it.

I have a ipod also it has its pros and cons. Ok sound quality (I use a pair of nice sennheisers and i have to use the equalizer) okay battery life 8 hours out of box then immediately drops to 5-6 hours even with charging it for the four hours after you first get it. Small and lightweight thats good. But if your going to be the one buying it I would be cautious about buying it used. I would wan't to get stuck ith someone's 1 hour battery life cause they didn't charge it when they bought it. But since its january and xmas is over you have probably bought one already.

I was planning on getting an Ipod over the weekend Had my mind settled on the 20GB. Looked on Ebay and there are a few deals like $360.00 for the 40GB with free shipping but I'm probably going to get it at a store just for the added peace of mind.

Because iPods are made by apple, and apparently its cool to hate apple. And because people are dumb.

That being said, I have a 3rd generation iPod and absolutely love it. Wouldn't even think about purchasing a different mp3 player.

Have you tried checking out any stores that have them used? Maybe I'm just lucky, but the CompUSA near me and one of the best buys near me had a few open boxed ones. Best Buy had like 12 or so, I have no clue why. Bought a 20 gig iPod for my girlfriend for $150. Mint condition, just didn't come with the dock or the wire, no biggie.

Same here, have a 3rd gen. ipod and it's the best electronics toy, which I own. It replaced the 6 cd changer in the car, great for long flights, excellent for parties, etc.

battery life?

hey has anyone else had problems in battery life? just wonderin
post #15 of 20
i've got a 4th gen 40gb iPod, and i consistently get 8 hours out of the battery. it's a great toy, it hold my entire music collection (~30gb) and a backup of all the important files on my computer for safekeeping. i absolutely love it. i was really looking to get the Rio Karma 20gb player, and i had my heart set on it, but then i got a deal from my brother in law who works for apple, and i got the 40gig iPod for $299, so, the great deal on it was worth more than getting the 20gig Rio for $299 (which has about a 12hour battery life).

don't bash apple because you think you don't like it or because someone else told you it sucks. bash it if you've tried the product and genuinely don't like it. i just bought myself a CL56, i've got 3 PCs in my apartment and i bought an iPod, i'm no apple fanatic, but they make a good MP3 player. great build quality, great support (if you need it), and a huge customer fanbase and community if you have any questions.

/apple owners and pc owners can live in harmony.

I don't have any problem with apple they make a great player (surely appeals to the public) and as long as it works the way it was advertised to then i am happy.

I guess some people don't like apple because they dont want rivalry with their PC

There's nothing wrong with the iPod, but what do you guys think of the Zen micro?
Zen Micros are ****ing great. I bought my girlfriend one for Christmas and she loves it. I have a 4th Gen 20gb Ipod, my dad and sister have both have Ipod Minis, but I still liked the Zen Micro enough to buy my girlfriend one instead of a mini.
