need mobility X800 bios - Page 2

ATI said they do not release bios file to the public, so i guess you got to go somewhere else, sort of like what you've been doing. the reviews might have what you need.

I have another strategy. With newfound knowledge and existing research, I am researching another alternative to flash the X800 bios initially. I still need the bios for this tho'. I am currently searching for a close desktop equivalent to a 12 pipe variant of our card. Clock speeds (around 400/400) is what I am looking for. Hopefully multiple cards.

I researched the X800se mentioned earlier and realized that is a 8 pipe 6 vertex version of our chip with different memory configs. That unfortunately just raises our clocks to 400/400.

The X800pros that I have seen are running in the 475+mhz range. That wont work either. Too hot.

Now...

If I can find a "suitable donor" and hopefully more than one to work with, I could begin experimentation. I will look tomorrow thru the x800 lineup. The low clocks are essential. no lockups before desktop

As long as the donor is agp I should be able to flash back.

Anyone know for sure if I have to connect any of the jumpers on the chip or if the pipes just open?

Thanks for all your help on this everyone... hopefully this will pay off soon

have you check this site? http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...page/Itemid,1/

quite alot of info on video card and utilitys

there are also video bios editors one call rad edit. which you can edit the clock speed of core / memory at the bios level and then flash it so you don't need to use software loaded in the OS to overclock or underclock.

for your test to use desktop bios. why not just edit the clock with one of these radeon v-bios editors and limit the clock to 400/400.

Hmmmm..... REAL interesting.... ill research that tonight heavily... sounds really good though if it works!

That would give me the ability to open to 16 pipes (if they are good pipes) if ..... well lets not get that far yet...

Killer post dude!!!
