I'm with Ibelieve on this one. I think that seeing that alienware has had his/her money for so many months without giving him any sort of product, it is only fair that he/she gets money back when there is a price drop, hell that money he paid could be getting hard earned interest.
I know the protocol is that they wont price match if the product isnt in their hands anymore but i think that seeing they are not open on the weekend they should honour the price drop (without the 10% rebate) for him, especially because he's put so much faith in alienware and given them his money for so long.
I got bitten in a similar way, i ordered my machine in the beginning of november, and although i am gettin price drops, i am ineligible for the £100 mail in rebate that they are now offering customers. I think that is unfair, espeically because some people (esp who are buying auroras) are paying for their systems now, and getting the rebate, and their systems BEFORE ME!! Yeah, i know they have stock problems with 6800 ultras, but that isn't my problem, as long as they have my cash it's their problem.
Yes, i know to some of you 400 dollars isn't a lot of money, but to some of us it is. hell, i can buy an ipod photo with that cash. Why give it to a company that has made us wait so long (and hopefully that long wait is worth it!!) Plus with the whole "build your own computer" arguement, yeah, its cheaper, but some of us don't have that amount of free time to do it, and some of us want the 3yr support option for peace of mind so we don't need to get worried when our components fail cos we know we're covered.
Just my two pence.
